just started my first real internship and finally got the point of this subreddit

im being paid barely above minimum wage for my internship but with the hours that are expected of me, i actually end up making less than minimum wage or exactly that. i get how important wlb really is. i always really wanted to make some good in the world but now im considering just selling out for a high-paying relatively chill tech job where i code like 3 hours a day and then call it a day. ive always worked really hard and i don't mind working a lot, i think its also partially that i don't really think im doing interesting work right now. i was also blessed that with the jobs that i did work i was paid relatively really well. i really don't think i would mind working >60 hours a week if it was a company i really cared about, since i worked that much in…

ive always worked really hard and i don't mind working a lot, i think its also partially that i don't really think im doing interesting work right now. i was also blessed that with the jobs that i did work i was paid relatively really well. i really don't think i would mind working >60 hours a week if it was a company i really cared about, since i worked that much in high school, right now i just feel more like an overglorified secretary than someone actually making impactful contributions to society.
