Antiwork

we live in a dystopian society

the real question is how to get out of there right? i just signed up on reddit to get write down my thoughts for once. i think this is the right place. antiwork is not about not working. it is about not having to give our most valuable good – the time we have on this planet – for a bit of money. the money we have to use to survive. to rent a home, to buy food, to buy clothes. most of the money we earn – this doesn't apply to everyone but to the vast majority around this planet – we spend to survive. basically we give our time not to starve, not be on the streets, and to not be naked. everything we buy, we buy with the time we had to spend to earn our money. the capitalistic system is an inhumane system that depleads us…

antiwork is not about not working. it is about not having to give our most valuable good – the time we have on this planet – for a bit of money. the money we have to use to survive. to rent a home, to buy food, to buy clothes. most of the money we earn – this doesn't apply to everyone but to the vast majority around this planet – we spend to survive. basically we give our time not to starve, not be on the streets, and to not be naked. everything we buy, we buy with the time we had to spend to earn our money. the capitalistic system is an inhumane system that depleads us from all connections that are inherently important to us – the connection to our family, our friends and nature. capitalism feeds the worst of our human traits. greed.
i had cancer twice and i refuse to give my time for money. because once you realise how close you are to death. no money in the world is worth the time. because one day time will be gone. it can be any day.
i don't refuse work per se. i have a dream that to me sometimes seems unrealistic because of the lack of financial means. but what one cannot be do alone. can be done by a lot of people. so i wonder if i am the only person in the world that every thought about building their on village or city. what are the thoughts on this of you people that follow r/antiwork . is it completly utopian to think that it is possible to build a society that is not build around exploitation but on a trait that made human societies survive for thousands of years. reciprocity. i feel the need to work. not to give my time to earn money to survive. but for example to feel satisfied after seeing a house beeing build by my own and some friends. or beeing able to furnish this house that was build to together. in my eyes this the only way to escape the system and to feel more than like a little piece in a huge system that we don't have any influence on.
what are your thoughts? is it possible to convince enough people of that idea and build a “fair” society around these ideas? i think all it needs is money and knowledge on how to build to stuff to become self-sufficent?
is this just an absurd utopian thought or can this dream become reality one day? i think its time for ordinary man to do extraordinary things and to show the world that there is a possibility for a different life. where it matters who you are than what you have
