My department is very small, and the few of us that there are all take lunches pretty uncommonly. We just feel that there’s work that’s gotta get done, we need that extra hour, so we work through it.
Well, a month ago or so, my employer announced during our monthly company meeting that we all needed to start clocking out daily for lunches. Apparently, his bosses are getting on his ass about how people aren’t taking lunches for some reason. He’s tried to talk to us about it before, but again, I need that extra hour.
Just found out that every day they’ve been taking an hour off our time even though we don’t go to lunch. Essentially, I’m working a fucking free hour every day.
What can I do here? Can they FORCE me to eat lunch?
