Apparently I can provide better for my wife if I were dead.

So, long story short, my wife just lost her job and I'm a single income. I actually make “ok” money (58k a year). After adding up our bills and finances to ensure we can still save some at the end of each month, I need to only work another 219 years to be able to save for a comfortable retirement as a single income. BUT, with my current life insurance coverage, if I were to keel over and die, tomorrow, my wife would be better taken care of financially year over year than with me alive. Pretty shocking how broken the entire system really is.
