I hate working with the public

Some days working with the public really takes its toll. I try to be understanding of what other people have going on, but just because you’re hurting doesn’t give you an excuse to berate me. Just because you’re late doesn’t entitle you to take out that frustration on me. Just because I work in public doesn’t mean you get to vent/demean/release your pent up rage on me. I am not subhuman because I am helping you with your problem and you are not entitled to anything more than the services I am paid to provide. My politeness and courtesy are professionalism, not an open invitation to trap me into making me listen to you yell at me for things out of my control. It’s like a dog barking from the other side of the fence. As long as they know I can’t defend myself, I will continue to be yapped at.
