UK employer offering to hire me at 55 hours/week, 6 days/week for £24k. This doesn’t seem ok.

I'm currently in the US looking to move to the UK on a Skilled Worker visa. My wife and daughter are in the UK and I have no way of moving to the UK otherwise and we don't want to live in the US. Wife also can't work and I have no savings. While I respect the guy I've been talking to regarding the job because he'd be hiring me as a favor, the work schedule just reminds me so much of one of the reasons why my wife and I chose to not have a life in the US in the first place – the abhorrent work-life balance and work culture. The job is also an apprenticeship in conveyor belt engineering, if that matters. Idk how things work in the UK but is this normal? Am I supposed to be ok with working 55 hours a week, 6 days…

Genuinely curious if this is worth it. Obviously I want to be with my family, but at the cost of coming home exhausted every day, and having 4, maybe 5 hours of free time with one day off a week? Really don't know what to think here.
