Full-Time to Part-Time/ Contract at a company office job.

Hi all, I was wondering if anyone has gone about changing their office based job from full time to a part time/contract position for the reasons such as advocating for more flexible hours, being able to get more work done in half the time or simply just because the job itself does not promote growth. I’m thinking of possibly breaching the topic with my HR and manager and wanted to hear from anyone here what there experience was like with that. Is it a good idea? Honestly, my job currently does not require a full 8hr day to complete my tasks. If anything I’m just trying to bide time until I can clock out. I have also asked for more bigger and long term projects but my manager has failed in being able to provide me much to go on. I also don’t see myself in this position for more…

Honestly, my job currently does not require a full 8hr day to complete my tasks. If anything I’m just trying to bide time until I can clock out. I have also asked for more bigger and long term projects but my manager has failed in being able to provide me much to go on. I also don’t see myself in this position for more than another year or so and going part time would allow me to spend more time job searching for other positions that better meet my own career goals.
