Telling rookies, “we workers are braindead zombies, the bosses are sweeter than honey, lighter than light” … um, lol, ok, I may be in the wrong place here.

I understand why training new employees is important. And why there are times when existing rules or policies that don't seem to make any rational sense are rules which do serve to promote someone's vision of the ideal workplace. Meaning, if there is a policy, “business casual dress only on Fridays”, that is a policy that is likely derived from some older person's ideas from corporate standards dating back to the 80's/early 90's. But to explain to rookies that a policy that applies to one class of employee and not another class of employee is fair, because “who do you think you are/you aren't a member of that class”. Um, maybe just don't bother explaining it to me – just tell me the policy, and I will draw my own conclusions. Obviously, even saying that, in response, gets you into trouble as a 'rabble-rouser'/'union-sympathizer', but it's hard for me to…

Obviously, even saying that, in response, gets you into trouble as a 'rabble-rouser'/'union-sympathizer', but it's hard for me to understand how anyone thinks being a sort of allegorical Uncle Tom is something that 1) makes them look better; 2) encourages colleagues to regard the organization in a good light; 3) builds teamwork.
