I can very close to rage quit today. Got some dude calling yelling at me (I work for the government, so the thing he asked about it based on the law, not my own interpretation) and he asked to talk to my manager’s manager, since “he knows him for 20+ years”.
That dude was extremely rude and talked over me when I tried to help him on finding the legislation regarding his questions. He is very obviously sexist and even discrediting his own female coworker when I tried to explain my previous conversation with his female coworker to him. “She is a nice lady but she doesn’t know anything.” <= his exact word
That lady has also been in business for 10-15 years and knows her stuff.
Anyway, I forwarded the info to my manager’s manager and asked him to call back. My manager’s manager is cool and totally not a friend/fan of the dude.
Then my manager yelled at me for going to my manager’s manager instead of her, even though I already looped her in and she told me she didn’t want to be a part of the conversation. What am I supposed to do? The crazy dude asked to talk to my manager’s manager, not her, and she specifically told me to call the dude and she doesn’t need to be in the middleman between me and crazy dude.
TLDR: I just can’t anymore. Please give me advice on how not to rage quit.
