I spoke up (a bit) in an all-staff meeting after we were blindsided with the news of layoffs happening at the end of the month, and afterwards my supervisor gave me one of the best compliments I’ve ever received:

She said “I'm telling you, [my name] is quiet, but she's dangerous. She's someone who, you could be sitting there with her and suddenly you see all this blood and your head is rolling on the floor, and she's cut your throat.” I'm incredibly pleased to hear that I come across as a silent, ruthless slayer of management.
