Old job I had, had the carbon monoxide detector hardwired in to the alarm system. A new employee went into the boiler room to test it, setting it off. I was the designated “safety manager” for our branch. So the corporate safety guy demanded I go in there to see what was going on. If there was an actual carbon monoxide leak I would have been toast.
