After almost seven years, our landlord just raised our rent by $600, raising our $1,600 a month rent to $2,200 a month.
My mom makes good money as a postal worker, and even with my help, there’s no way she can afford that.
We gotta be out by the end of July but I don’t know where to go. My mom’s probably gonna move in with her bf but I can’t afford a goddamn apartment on my $11.50 an hour paycheck! I can’t find any damn apartments below $1,500! My mom is lovely and said she’d help with rent until I got on my feet, but I feel bad taking her money.
Every job I try applying to needs years of experience, a bunch of certifications, or is pay by commission. I have years of work experience, but those are all in minimum wage retail jobs. They could only help me get other minimum wage retail jobs.
This is all just so frustrating. It shouldn’t be this hard. Fuck landlords.
