It doesn't make sense to me. I came from a company that gave a week of dedicated sick time a year. My new company doesn't offer it so you have to use your accrued PTO when you are sick. Why is this normal?
I want to use my earned PTO to have a life and do things for enjoyment. Not burn the hours because I got sick.
So yeah, here I am, onsite at work, sick. I'm saving my PTO for vacations. It seems like a bad strategy if you require in office work. It will just get everyone else sick. I am wearing a mask whenever out of my office, but still.
