Quit or try to get let go?

I can no longer continue working in my position as a traveling service technician for mental and physical health reasons. It’s an extremely high stress position due to being understaffed, poor management, and lack of resources. Today is Monday and I did not show up to the office. My boss is out of the country at one of our customers dealing with crap they would’ve had me doing but I’m the only service technician in the company and I was needed at multiple other locations. I have been drafting an email to my boss letting him know that I will no longer continue my position and I will not be fulfilling the scheduled visits for this week (kinda screws them over big time). But I’m writing the email and wondering if this is the best solution for me to get the most of this situation? Ideally I would like for them to let me go so I could collect unemployment to help pay for this new apartment that I just signed a lease for. I have my side hustles and plan on getting my own business running to cover, but the unemployment always helps.

Should I seek to get fired or laid off rather than let my boss know now in email that I’m quitting? I did work here for 4 years and it sucks that I am kinda doing them dirty like this (am I though?). While I can’t say the company didn’t take care of me, I think that’s just the conditioning they gave me to make me feel like I’m getting taken care of when in reality I think they were equally taking advantage of me.

TLDR: Hate my job and need to quit asap. No job lined up other than my side hustles and help from family if needed. Do I email my two weeks notice or do I fck around with calling in sick, no shows, whatever it would take to get fired and collect unemployment?
