I work in the warehouse, picking products to be sent to the stores. During peak seasons, significant sales, or new store openings they will work us like crazy- having us come in 60 hours a week for weeks at a time and then once things calm down they will send us home early every single day for weeks.
This week is just a normal week. However, the hotline told us to come in at 5 AM for a 10 hour shift. In the morning meeting, the manager actually yelled at us in the microphone saying “the reason we’re here at 5 AM today is because your picking numbers SUCK. WE CANNOT AFFORD TO KEEP PAYING YOU OVERTIME!“ and I’m thinking, is this man actually serious? According to Wikipedia their revenue in 2019 was over 10 billion. They could probably pay us double what we get paid and the CEO’s would still be filthy rich. We have to work in a sweaty humid warehouse, crowded with each other in the isles with barely room to breathe and this is how they talk to their employees? Also, they usually play music over the speakers since we’re not allowed to have phones or earbuds and there was a few days straight where there was no music and I’m pretty sure it was done to punish us. Fuck this company
