I'm absolutely livid right now. I work for a small business and the owner the company lives out of town. A while back two employees verbally fought with one another on a regular basis. Things got to a point where the owner had to put someone in charge to oversee day to day operations at the business while they were out of town.
By some massive leap of stupidity, the owner decides to put one the two people who were at each other's throats in charge of the place while they (the owner) were not present. This eventually led to one of these two people being fired (not the guy who was put in charge).
In what world does it make sense for you to put one of the two people and in fact the aggressor of every situation in charge?
Anyway, this individual who was put in charge constantly verbally abuses me on a daily basis and I'm sick and tired of it. I'm insulted and harassed every single day I come into work. I've complained to the owner before, but the owner's hands are tied because this jerk does so many different things that are beneficial for the business; his fingers are really dug into so many aspects of it.
If I walk into work in the morning and I don't say hello I'm told how rude and inconsiderate I am for not saying hello. If I do say hello, I'm insulted or greeted with some super sarcastic and negative statement.
I'm on my last nerve after today because, and this isn't the first time this has occurred, I was lectured and made to feel like an idiot after I did what I was told to do. This person tells me to do one thing a certain way and then when I do as I was told, at some point in the future this idiot comes to me and says “Hey so and so why are you doing your work this way? It doesn't make sense to do it like that you should do it like this instead, stop wasting time and energy.” This person has gotten me in trouble with the owner before because they told me not to do x, y and z task for a certain period of time telling me that they would handle it. They then turn around to the owner and tell the owner that I'm not doing my job.
I can go into more detail, and it gets truly toxic and sinister but I'm going to end my convoluted rant here for now.
