My partner and I caught COVID.

And both of our jobs reacted very differently. My partner is wfh. They haven't been working there for long, however, the company has been awesome about recent emergencies / time off. Without asking questions they gave my partner the okay and genuinely cared about our wellbeing. Meanwhile, the job I just started, that I caught COVID from. They've told me the laws of how many days I get, ignored my texts/emails, and at 8PM I got a text asking if I can come back sooner…? This company my partner works for, my partner is willing to go above and beyond for because they give it in turn. My partner was suggested to work for this company by other people who said it was great. Me? I'm quitting tomorrow morning with an immediate notice. Leaving with a bad review. And warning anyone else who may work there. It's so much more…

It's so much more worth it to treat your workers well, than to bully them into submission. There is ZERO excuse for my company to act any differently than my partner's, especially when my job is a fraction of the salary / responsibility that they have.
