Paychecks not on time last two weeks, boss says to enjoy our savings.

So I thought you guys may get a kick out of this. I work for a nationwide assembly company that puts bikes and grills and whatever together for Walmart and Lowe's. Me and most of my coworkers receive our direct deposit Thursday night. I've done this job for 2 years and every Thursday at 9 pm like clockwork my check is in there. Well memorial day week our checks weren't there Friday morning. People start freaking out on slack wanting answers and we are told payday isn't until Monday and if we had been receiving our check earlier it's our banks fault and it's probably only late because of memorial day. A lot of people point out there checks have still been on time regardless of holidays and that's bullshit. So then the higher ups start chiming in. One of them tell us we should be thankful that we can…

One of them tell us we should be thankful that we can save our money this weekend and look forward to all that money we saved on Monday. People flip on him and tell him how car payments, rent, and other things are late now because of this. Me personally had my car insurance lapse because of this.

Then another one chimes in and tells us if we are living paycheck to paycheck we should just work on the weekends so we can make more money. We are paid by the piece so our pay already relies on us busting our ass to get the best wage possible. They also let it slip that the office workers were paid on time.

So next week comes and the same thing happens even without a holiday. Now we are being told that they don't even know how we were receiving checks on Thursday when they don't even send payroll in until Friday (which is obviously a lie). I just wish they realized being paid at a consistent time is important and that just work more isn't the right answer when a lot of us get sent to stores that are up to 80 miles away so we have an hour and a half to two hours of driving before we even start working.
