Team Building Events

I worked at a Generous Electrical facility that announced a team building activity for all exempt employees. On Saturday. At the plant. All day. Painting the offices and common areas for an upcoming visit by the CEO (Neutral Jackass). We had some motherfuckers there that day literally didn’t know how to use a brush or roller. I watched this one senior finance douchebag run the roller back and forth really quickly, after overloading it with paint. Spatters and drips everywhere. Did I show him the correct way? No. Did I do anything about the mess? No. They got quality commensurate with what they paid. I felt like I HAD to participate or my job was at risk. You never left that plant without putting in at least a 10 hour day. Total “cult of personality” around Neutral Jackass. That same finance asshole later announced a cost saving measure, no more…

day.

That same finance asshole later announced a cost saving measure, no more of the cheap ass shitty free coffee (make a pot yourself) in the break rooms. I pulled him aside and told him they should be supplying that shit free and with IV bags for chrissakes. Free coffee = productivity – dumb ass, even if you didn’t care about morale. His response was that R&D people didn’t understand how a P&L should be run. He happened to be wearing a shirt with paint flecks on it from the team building event.

They literally didn’t gaf about you, only how much money you could make fir them and told you you were blessed to be doing it there.
