So I have been at this company for about 9 months and get paid $16/hr which isn't terrible especially living in Texas until you find out that it's a shop hand job for a company that hauls salt water and oil for other companies. Anyway, I started with zero experience and the owner started me at that rate. Well, I've been the longest running employee there for that job (people come and go a lot), and can do everything required of me now. Have been able to for months now including minor engine work/maintenance and tire changes/repair along with brakes, etc. Anyways, the last 3 people have been basically useless. Half assed work, not working at all, or not even showing up. They've all been getting paid $18 an hour, including our new guy who has no experience at all. We work on average 14 to 16 hour days. The bosses complain to me about it constantly, yet refuse to give me a raise. I've mentioned it a few times already and nothing has changed. If I could leave I would, but I need the money I'm getting now. Any suggestions that aren't just off the cuff reactions that aren't currently possible? I'm losing my patience and have already lost it on the new guy a few times because it just pisses me off. Sorry for the length and format. I'm on mobile.
