Trying to figure out how to scam my remote job, who has been nothing but abusive for a year and a half

Heya friends! Looking for some advice how to milk a dying tree. I got a new job right during the pandemic in Dec 2020, which is 90% remote. We are supposed to come into the office one day a week. It pays ok at 60k a year. The company has been the worst place I have ever worked. I was told in the interview I was working with a difficult employee. The woman is in her late 60s and is racist, anti-mask, antivax, screams about how much everyone should believe her beliefs… she closes the door when she is training me or other people in order to be abusive. She also has some sort of mental decline and accuses other people of making her mistakes. I am into coding. Her code breaks constantly. She is the only programmer for our department.

And due to this, she is a “gatekeeper” of a huge 1980s conversion project. She is lolligagging, taking her time, and not really working on the project to milk her retirement- and in her own words, when she was bragging to me, said “I have this company by the balls.”

And she does. Three people which were supposed to be her direct coworkers have quit on her account. I have stayed due to wanting the experience to get out of there, and that's it.

Work has gotten even worse, with a new director being abusive. She is stripping me of my job duties, telling me nothing but negative feedback. I am on an improvement plan through HR. This is a huge company with dozens of locations.

The way I see it, I am going to get fired without a doubt in 6 months. We have yearly reviews.

I have a job interview with a good friend who is basically guaranteeing me a job in two days. I just got back from vacation due to someone close in my family passing away. I have 140 hours of PTO, Bereavement leave, and a dying relative to use to take off time from this horrible, horrible job.

(Also I just want to mention, I was promoted three times at my last job and worked there for 5 years… I'm not always a bad employee)

Anyway, how could I milk, and abuse this remote job as much as possible? I have no respect for them, they have no respect for me. When asking if I could work some essential job duties on my last vacation, I was told by the director, “Do not question my authority.” They are so authoritian and abusive it's insane and I'm at the point where I just don't want to be sued.

Advice appreciated 🙂

Side note. This place is so huge, so many employees… sometimes I feel as if I don't even exist in my cubicle. Part of me wants to see how long if I just don't show up how long it will take them to realize I'm gone. Thoughts?
