I’m a nurse. At my last hospital, there was a mass exodus of nursing staff.

We lost 30 nurses in two weeks. The ones who stayed were expected to pick up the slack. We had a mandatory all hands meeting, where one of my wonderful peers said “Will you address the extreme turnover rate? Staff morale is at an all time low.” The director or nursing had the fucking audacity to say “the morale of your unit is your responsibility, not ours.” If I could have afforded to walk out then, I would have. After much more bullshit, I left 6 months later. Left the whole state, in fact. Florida treats their nurses worse than garbage.
