So I was hired for this job in the medical field. It’s a job I know how to do very well and have worked this same job at a few different offices.
Anyway, I moved out of my home state and 5.5 hours away to live with my boyfriend. I’ve just started applying to new jobs and I found one that seems AWESOME! And the pay is phenomenal for out here and every Friday is a half day. Pretty cool right?
Well for this job and for the first time ever, I needed to get a state background check (okay cool), a drug test (okay also normal), a fbi background check w/ finger prints (that I had to pay $25 for but should be reimbursed), and finally a child abuse background check.
This is INSANE to me to go through all this for a lower level medical office job. It’s not like I’m the doctor!!
Anyway the problem is, they’ve been super strict that I had to start this Monday 6/20 and if I couldn’t get everything done before last Wednesday they’d find someone else. So I finished everything last Monday to be safe. The manager texted me Sunday night at 9:45 that not everything had come back yet and so I couldn’t start yesterday. Radio silence all yesterday so I obviously didn’t go in today. Then the manager calls me up again today saying they still haven’t gotten my drug test back yet and I have to call the lab.
Basically, I need opinions on if I should keep pursuing this job or not. I have a different interview tomorrow.
