So I have been considering finding a new job for a while, but unfortunately due to my oppressed status in the United States, it has been impossible for me to move up the ladder due to not going to college.
I have been working at McDonalds for about 15 years now and have noticed all of my white co-workers becoming super friendly with the manager. The manager, being a cis, heteronormative male, seems to have taken a liking to my co-workers. Whenever they ask for a weekend break from work, the manager, with a smile, gives it to them. This past week though, I asked my manager for a break to take my mom to her TUMOR REMOVAL SURGERY and he, unsurprisingly said no.
The worst part isn't even that. Throughout my career at the capitalist corporation of McDonalds, I have only been promoted once as a part-time assistant manager. A white male that has been working at McDonalds for 5 years (I have been working 3 times longer than him) has just recently promoted to general manager. The kid seems to also be a racist, as scoff at my criticisms of the horrid corporation of McDonalds, a true proud boy!
The truth is, all my co-workers are self-professed republicans. I kid you not, we have a tv in the back of the work station, and every time I ask to turn on some Mtv or something interesting, everybody else says I am just a bigot because I don't recommend watching fox news with Tucker Carlson and Jesse Watters. One time, a co-worker of mine even called me a black nationalist for not wanting to watch fox news.
The story gets even worse from there though. This past night, I was scrolling through instagram, and suddenly got a notification from messages. The group chat had 12 people in it and was just made. The creator of the chat, who I assume to the be the owner of the store, started with a text saying how we need to give non-white people less money and give them no raises. I was shocked! They then mentioned my name, and everybody in the chat encouraged the owner to fire me! I kid you not, they somehow didn't notice my name in the group chat.
My point being, capitalist america is racist, and filled with cis white males who are trying to steal opportunities at retail from brave black men and women. We need to overthrow this country and being socialism under AOC! WHO'S WITH ME!?
