Found out I’m paid 20 times less, just for existing in a 3rd world country.

So, I work at a Fortune 500 B2B multinational in a 3rd world country. I always knew something was off, but luckily someone sent me a document with the pay ranges for all the regions. I found out I'm getting paid 20 times less just for existing in a 3rd world country compared to people in the US, even though I'm doing the exact same work. Okay, I understand the cost of living is different, but that disparity is terrible. They don't even peg your salary to the USD, so the insane inflation and depreciating currency is another pain. Family/personal insurance is also tied to the company, similar to the US. And I know I see terrible work culture in the US, and honestly comparing the two, the US is a glorified 3rd world country too, but at least selling your soul to work still gets you some money. Okay, I understand the cost of living is different, but that disparity is terrible. They don't even peg your salary to the USD, so the insane inflation and depreciating currency is another pain.

And I know I see terrible work culture in the US, and honestly comparing the two, the US is a glorified 3rd world country too, but at least selling your soul to work still gets you some money. Over here, you don't get much for working 9 hours daily.

Multinationals are definitely taking advantage of 3rd world countries as they know they can legally get away with it.

They hire so many people from such countries, making the growth opportunities low as well, and when you realize you're just salaried terribly and can probably make an entire month's salary in a day online (if lucky and consistent enough), it just feels worse.

And here, you're just supposed to be grateful that you even have a job. I know that even though it's terrible, the next person in line will be begging just to have the job just to survive better. There's no shortage of those who want just some work as local-company jobs are even worse.

It's worse knowing that you could also just get fired at any time.

So yea, companies expect your dad to be rich here, otherwise affording a car or house is just a dream.
