How to help a suicidal coworker in a very poorly-led work environment?

A work with an autistic coworker who confided me he’s suicidal a few months ago, the first thing I did was try to talk him down telling him that he’s loved and admired and a great worker. The second thing I did was told my management team, because that is an extremely serious issue and I wanted to make sure he got all the support he needed. I think a big reason why he’s suicidal because this job means a lot to him and he’s sat at the bottom for so long and witnessed people with lesser seniority climb up the totem pole before he has, and I totally understand that. Here’s my issue;

There is very little compassion in the workplace for this poor fucking guy. His morale is very obviously devastatingly low and he is retaliating at work and behaving somewhat recklessly. He’s basically screaming for help and nobody gives him the respect he deserves, they just complain about his retaliation and they take it to our supervisor.

I don’t know if its gotten to the point of telling my coworkers that he confided in me that he was suicidal if that would be a wake up call for them to show compassion, but I don’t want to become part of the problem and ruin his life more by doing so.

I try to be as nice and as supportive as I can to him but it doesn’t seem to be enough.

There’s only so much I can do but its so fucking excruciating to watch. Especially given the fact that he’s autistic, he takes a lot to heart.
