Just wanted to start a discussion if anything. You know how we get paid to stand and do whatever little job are title is, but we don't live there or pay bills, we just work there when we are paid to. So whats with boss's who act as if we are paid for more than what we were hired for? For example, say you cook burgers and your boss wants you to cover for someone who does fries. That isn't what you are paid for and yet you're expected to 'step up' and 'show leadership'. Or they say “You run this store too! This is your store”. Like cool I can close it down then?
Worked in retail and was expected to do things the manager and the other keyholder didn't want to do. And they wonder why people from my town don't want to work there, only people who are desperate in a town that's about 40 minutes away
So just to reiterate, why are we expected to do more than what we are hired to do when the job is something like being a cashier or doing customer service?
