American Work Culture is a scam.
A family member was hit and killed by a drunk driver last month. I was curious as to why there wasn’t a lot of people at the funeral. Like barely under half of the attendee list showed up. So I decided to survey around…..
Turns out it was the employers. My aunt couldn’t make it because she works in an Amazon warehouse and Amazon only gives funeral leave to “Immediate family members that have died”. The others were because it was too short notice and for one reason or the other their employers denied the time off to travel to the funeral.
This is not a free country. We can’t even be together as a family to grieve over a dead loved one because these employers that we have to rely on for healthcare, food, shelter tighten the noose every time we need to do something for ourselves. Hell we can barely even go to the doctor here. The list of people I personally know that have died from preventable causes just keeps growing. The USA is screaming towards fascism and half our country’s tongues are so raw from licking boots they don’t even see that they are voting to kill themselves. I’m sick of this place and I hate it here. I am working towards leaving this place and I encourage others to do the same. If you are loyal to your employer, don’t be. They will screw you over and replace you the second you need them. In this country we are all just numbers and everything is designed to reabsorb our assets the second we need to exercise any basic human need (healthcare, shelter, transportation, utilities, food, GO TO A F**KING FUNERAL etc etc).
Get out while you can. This place sucks and hardly anybody will be at your funeral when you die 🤡🇺🇸🤡
