LinkedIn recruiters are an absolute joke

I've gotten so many honestly just insulting offers from these people. Idk what companies pay them, because they do nothing but make me never want to work for the companies they represent. Most recently I had a Linkedin recruiter reach out to me for a job in NYC. I live 3 hours upstate. They wanted me to go down for an in person meeting to discuss the role. They didnt give me a job description or a salary range (which is now required by law in NYC). When I asked for both, they just sent me a job description and said compensation can be talked about in person. I told them that their method is obviously a transparent attempt to make me sink my time into an interview that I would then feel like I wasted that time by not agreeing to whatever compensation they offered me. I asked if reaching out through linkedin was the way that they were circumventing the new law by not making an “official posting”.

I did not receive any more emails after that.
