Feedback on an idea

It seems that people choosing to not take minimum wage jobs has caused a big impact on corporations and the economy. The unfortunate thing is that the people working these jobs are often the ones living paycheck to paycheck and can't afford to refuse to work. I strongly support social programs and think we shouldn't let a few people taking advantage stop us from supporting people in need. Especially since the ones that are REALLY taking advantage are the billion/trillionaires. I'm certainly not rich but I make enough that I can support my family, and I could put some funds toward a cause I believe in. The problem is that I want to put my money toward something that will lead to change, not just a bandaid. I imagine there are other people in the same boat. I think it would be really cool if we could get a group…

I think it would be really cool if we could get a group of people who are willing to donate money to cover living expenses for people working in a specific industry or for a certain corporation so they can refuse to work. Once the target is forced to negotiate with workers, we could move on to the next.

We don't have the advantage of money or the support of the establishment, but they need our labor.

I live in Washington state where the minimum wage is $14.49/hr. That's $2318/mo for 40hr/wk before taxes. It seems like we should be able to make these “donations” tax-deductible as well.
