The current generation will be cold

Do these old disrespectful boomers not understand that every liquid ounce of spit and disrespect they put on us will be payed for down the line? People love to say that my generation (Gen Z) has no respect when a lot of the time I've found it couldn't be further from the truth. Today's generation is one of the most patient and selfless generations to date. Obviously I don't speak for all, but from what I've seen, the current generation will not work without fair pay and treatment, which boomers tend to consider bad, yet we will work tirelessly for someone in need of help. It's a truly beautiful thing, but respect demands respect and when that's not given, we lose our ability to care.

This boomer mindset of unconditional respect will make our generation viciously cold towards the people who see it that way and eventually when they realize that they are incapable of walking on their own, they will expect our help. But they will have already burned away our care for them. If there's one thing our generation has learned how to do to survive, it's our uncanny ability to disconnect. It's scary how we can in seconds put their lives at less meaning than seconds of our time. It's scary and it's something they should fear. A lot of us don't even consider our blood related family as family anymore.

Generational trauma, abuse, rejection, out casting, being called a failure, constantly being put down by your whole family. These are things that happened constantly to the current generation growing up. All this, and we're still questioned “Why don't you want to go see your family?”

The generation to raise my generation (Gen X and Early Millennials) was destroyed by the boomer generation, which unfortunately in turn calloused mine. Unfortunately for some of us, it's to the point where even life holds little meaning if all it means is we slave until we drop.

I almost feel sorry for them though. our future is dark, cold and full of bitterness. However, unlike our generation. The people remembering them will look at them with only spite.
