my employer called in a favor

He asked me to come in for a shift at a buildng i was wrongfully banned from as retaliation (from someone now fired) for something i wasnt involved in bcuz he had no one else he could rely on that was available. I called my co worker to ask a question as a refresher, and he informed me that he is out for 10 days dude to covid. The manager on site also has covid and was here yesterday. I have been sitting in this office we share, touching the same chair, desk, and clipboards as them. My boss knows i have a 10 week old child and a wife at home. What the hell. Is this illegal to hide something like an outbreak from your employees?
