I work for a minimum wage job and this morning I woke up with a pounding headache and a sore back. I was lifting some heavy furniture yesterday.
I work for a grocery store in the bulk department and I lift heavy things all day. I didn’t think I could lift heavy 50lbs bags for 8 hours straight on 5 hours of sleep.
They usually schedule me for 5 hours and I had 3 days off prior to today. I called in sick and told the manager I wasn’t feeling well because my back was hurt from yesterday. I could tell the he wasn’t too happy about it.
Should I feel bad for calling in sick? Should I have gone in anyways? Am I more likely to be fired in the future?
