My dad worked 35 years in the same job, in the same factory, retired comfortably.
Just after he retired, the factory was sold to new owners. The new company fired everyone, told them all they could reapply for their jobs at a rate almost half of what it was.
Surprise, surprise, they can’t keep anyone.
It’s gotten so bad, that they have nobody to train new people. So they called my dad.
Rather than pay workers a wage that will keep them around. They are throwing money at a person who doesn’t need the money.
My father is actively contributing to my wage being kept low and I’ve never been more disappointed in him.
Am I the asshole here??
