Is it legal for a company to force you to work mandatory OT , AND labor share your to other departments within the company that others in that role are making more per hour than you?

Exactly what the title says. My company loves to labor share employees from other departments to save on labor. The company says it’s mandatory but I feel like it’s illegal due to not getting equal pay as others in that department. I feel like it’s borderline discriminatory. Large amounts of workers are getting injuries due to the work load and they are forcing workers to take on other roles to make up for employee shortage. Should employees be getting equal pay for same work in as others in that role? Is it legal to force workers to cross train without increase in pay? Sorry if this is the wrong place but lots of good info on this sub and figured someone would have some good stuff to say about this topic. P.s. I’m organizing my workforce to walkout/ unionize over all this and many other safety violations workers deal with…

P.s. I’m organizing my workforce to walkout/ unionize over all this and many other safety violations workers deal with daily until the company comes to the negotiating table.
