Fired because wages garnished

My wife worked at a small town bar in Alberta Canada for the last 10 months. Over that time the owners were rude, and on top of that most times she worked the closing shift. She would balance her tills but many times the owners would message in the morning saying they recounted and she was short money. Sometimes $2, sometimes $30 or $40. At the same time was handed a final paycheck and severance check. We went through all her paystubs and have found where she has been deducted money twice before also. We have talked to the labour board and have verified that garnishing wages is a huge no no but also she is owed 3 hours wages since they made her show up for her shift to fire her.

I'm curious if any other servers in Alberta have had problems like this as well as have a few other questions.
