I was at the store with my friend, and while paying at the self checkout I forget to pay for a 10 cent bag. I go and get a bag anyway, because why the fuck not. But! She starts to ask loudly, drawing the attention of everyone, “did you pay for a bag”?? “I don’t think you paid for a bag”. And I try to nod to her awkwardly, hoping she stops it, but she just continues loudly, “did you pay for a bag”??? The staff were all looking at me now, but I nodded and just walked out quickly. I am just so…annoyed with her. This made me realize the vast difference in our values. Companies and the government itself are CONSTANTLY screwing her over one way or another, any chance they get, and she almost gets her best friend in trouble over a 10 cent plastic bag? I just can’t respect her as much somehow, am I over reacting? I would likely help my friends hide a body, I take loyalty to friends seriously, I just think what she did was incredibly stupid. I would never put her on the spot like that.
