My take on the three types of antiwork users:

I see this whole subreddit as a bit ambiguous with it's defined audience, and that's why there's conflicting inputs and infighting amongst it's participants on posts and in comments. I am not here to judge any of this, and I've reviewed my writing below to try and remove any judgemental input/language. As far as I've seen from my time here, there are three main perspectives. I have placed these three types in order of most to least in favor of the current structure of work/labor in the US (where I live): Those who have found this subreddit via a hatred of the idea of not wanting to participate in the grind/hustle culture. They don't really have views that align with this subreddit at all, and are here to spectate the “other side”. They operate from the level of devil's advocate to contrarian. I see this whole subreddit as a bit ambiguous with it's defined audience, and that's why there's conflicting inputs and infighting amongst it's participants on posts and in comments. As far as I've seen from my time here, there are three main perspectives. I have placed these three types in order of most to least in favor of the current structure of work/labor in the US (where I live):

  1. Those who have found this subreddit via a hatred of the idea of not wanting to participate in the grind/hustle culture. They don't really have views that align with this subreddit at all, and are here to spectate the “other side”. They operate from the level of devil's advocate to contrarian.

  2. Those who believe work has some worth, and have varying degrees of dissatisfaction with the systems in place for that work. This can mean a minor difference from the previous type of person, or it can mean they are fed up with nearly every facet of the system and ready to move towards the third type.

  3. Completely against work/labor in any form. They do not believe life should require this kind of experience, and are vehemently against any system/belief that requires them to fulfill that role.

I have not posted this to endorse any of these stances, merely to categorize them as I have seen them here and help to better classify the user base here.

Personally, I am in between 2 & 3. I am also aware that anyone firmly rooted in any of the three of these basically hates the other two.

I hope this post has helped anyone who reads it to better understand the dynamics of this subreddit.
