I'm not sure what to do. My oldest daughter took a bad fall at the end of the summer this year. It's turned out that I need to quit my job in order to fully address this issue. She's experiencing seizures, etc.
I asked for severance pay and was told there isn't severance pay per se…just a payout of my vacation and sick time.
I'm not sure how to word my response. He's been a really kind guy related to this injury and I'm disappointed I can't continue with them. I'm hoping to be rehireable as well in the future but truly need this money.
Any advice?
Edit: sorry guys, I'm not using the correct term. I'm referring to the payout specifically laid out in my contract related to family sick leave. It's been determined an emergency and as a federal employee I was told, in contract, that I'd be entitled to two weeks of additional pay. I could have sworn it was severance pay but I'm not sure what it was truly called.
