A 10K raise minus readjusted student loan payments

My husband was offered a supervisor position that was previously two positions, and there’s every indication that the job will be impossible and he’ll be ridiculously overworked, but we’re just scraping by as is. Then we calculated what his monthly student loan payments would be once he lost eligibility for his current income-based reduction repayment rate. The math comes out to a 2K pay raise for two jobs in one as a salaried position that is expected to work uncompensated overtime and be on call nearly 24/7. Both of us work in healthcare and I’m SO TIRED of the endless wage theft. If only we’d known that “non profit” hospitals would develop such a hyper consumerist culture. It makes me sick.
