Throwaway account.
I'm in Physiotherapy (which my company knew about).
Last week I spoke with the manager and told her my Doctor recommended I cut back my hours a bit and work 4 shifts a week instead of 5.
She told me she could do it and I was happy with that.
At the end of my shift as I was leaving she told me she looked at the schedule and couldn't cover one shift a week.
So I told her, “What if I quit? Then you'd have to cover 5 shifts a week.”
“You want to quit, go ahead” she said to me.
So I told her “Okay I quit, thank you.”
And I took my stuff and left.
So now they can't cover 1 shift a week, but the manager told me to go ahead and quit and now she has to cover 5 shifts a week.
When a company tells you they can't accommodate a schedule change; they can.
They choose not to.
