I work in IT, and I have worked with Infosys employees in the past. A friend based in India sent me this. Infosys is an India-headquartered IT company and is one of the WITCH companies(Wipro, Infosys, Tata Consultancy Services, Cognizant, and HCL) whose India-based IT workers are paid the least in the industry.
These companies have hired American workers too by setting up offices here. But local hiring might just see a dip this year as the decline of the pandemic means that more H1-B visas will soon be approved.
For the record, all of these companies hire college graduates in India at just $4400 per annum as the starting salary, and this pay level has remained unchanged since 2009.
With this pay hike, Salil Parekh's pay will be nearly 900 times that of the median pay in Infosys.
