Not sure why I have to make this thread, but idiot bosses seem to think giving out gas cards is better than giving a raise or a bonus. The reason you're giving the gas card is because your employee's living expenses have increased relative to their income. Temporarily alleviating that problem so they can commute to work for a week or two (and doing nothing else) is not a solution. It is not a nice gesture. It is a slap in the face.
