A memorable resignation

I printed my resignation letter in the office printer and instantly gave it to my manager. ๐Ÿ™‚ Here's why, year 2021: I used to be the lead software engineer here. I develop mobile apps specifically, which by common sense, I would need an iPhone and a charger. I raised it up to my manager, he said yes, and I took it up to the upper management. I told them why I need it and then asked me what's my work and I simply said “an iOS dev” and they said “What's that? iOS? What?”. I was too shocked to respond so I just said its important and gave them the paper work. So being a developer, remotely working is entirely perfect for us, right? I printed my resignation letter in the office printer and instantly gave it to my manager. ๐Ÿ™‚

Here's why, year 2021:

  1. I used to be the lead software engineer here.

  2. So being a developer, remotely working is entirely perfect for us, right? Anyway, It was the peak of covid and the government had announced the forced lockdown, now I'm the only one with a Macbook in the team, and of course duh I need the mac for my work, and I gotta argue with company admins for me to take it home, implying that I won't return it back (but my manager said its essential for me) so I was able to bring it home. My other coworkers however wasn't allowed to bring home their desktops (I know, its dumb like how da heck will they do their work???).

  3. The admins FORCED us to go back to work IN THE OFFICE at the PEAK OF PANDEMIC even though there was no mode of transportation! It was a massive health risk too! When back at the office, there was no social distancing, no air ventilation, all windows were shut, it was even reported that 2 people from the other department GOT POSITIVE (remember that this was still the first variant, the fatal one) and yet the company admin WOULDN'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT.

  4. Remember the iPhone I was talking about? I wasn't allowed to take it home. Lo and behold, one of the company admin IS PERSONALLY USING THE PHONE (long story short I told my manager and got the phone back for work).

Note: I'm the breadwinner in the family and in the peak of the pandemic I couldn't just leave my work. I just had to take it all in and jumped ship when I saw the chance and was safe to do so which was just last year.

Another note: I posted this on the comments on this thread but I thought to share it here with yall too
