A POSITIVE hiring experience and a small ray of light!

(US btw) Applied for a new job a while ago. First initial phone interview was straightforward and no bullshit. The guy straight up told me “Just so we’re on the same page and we don’t waste each other’s time, here’s our budgeted range for this position are we in the same ballpark?” And it was fair market rate for the position. Super fast in person interview. Told me to exaggerate my job history pay on the application to make sure their HR would offer the pay we agreed on. Hourly wage, but boss says if I’m ever a few hours shy of 40 hours to call him. Overtime any time I wanted but said I’m not allowed to work past 5 on Friday’s. Has called me once after hours but started with “I’m sorry to call you, if it’s an issue tell me now.”

Almost feels too good to be true but I’m stoked. Wanted to post a positive employer experience. Maybe I just got lucky or maybe some companies/supervisors are starting to get it.
