A pre-existing condition?

I started working for a company in reservations that requires you stand for all 8 hours. This is very difficult for me. I end up in terrible pain at the end of the day. They have chairs and I asked if we are allowed to use them. The manager said sure with a doctors note. So I got a doctor's note. Now I get an email from HR asking if this was a pre-existing condition? What should I say? Thanks.
