I just made it to the 4th round of interviews for a new job. For the interview, they want me to make a presentation giving them new ideas/suggestions for them to “theoretically” use for one of their initiatives. I am really unsure if I will do the interview because it seems like a huge red flag that they are making people do this. I have a feeling that they will be taking all the work from every person who made it this far into the interview process and using their work for future organization improvement. I will be doing all this for a job that is paying around 40k a year and is an “entry level position” even though I have experience. The amount of labor they are making everyone do just for a job that won't even help pay off debt or bills is absolutely disgusting. This position is also of course a non-profit and will stop at nothing to get the most work out of everyone with little to no pay. Non-profits are just a product of capitalism and a band-aid solution to actually getting to the root of issues. I just left a job because of the working conditions and now will probably be getting another job with the same or worse conditions. It is so frustrating and tiring knowing that this is probably as good as it gets. Hope everyone is hanging in there.
