A very big company fired 340 employees, around 20% of their total number to cut costs

And the fired employees are going on LinkedIn to thank the company for the “opportunity to be a part of this company” for the experience they got from working there, for all that the company gave them. Do they seriously not realize that the company doesn’t give a fuck about them? They’re literally just a number. The company didn’t need to cut costs, they are doing very well financially, they cut costs because they’re greedy, and every single employee is just as replaceable as the last one. Sure, the company gave them a nice last paycheck and let them keep their work computers, but if they can do that, why not just keep the employees?? I would rather have my job than a stupid old computer, I can’t pay bills with that computer, and that last paycheck can only last so long and not everyone qualifies for unemployment either.
