abandoned by remote job after moving to a new state

so i, like countless others, have wanted a remote job ever since i knew they were a thing. work in your pajamas? stop paying for gas? eat lunch at home? sold! i must have sent out about a hundred applications, and finally managed to land a job amongst all the scams, ignored applications, and commission-based pay. and it's a pretty good job! the pay is decent, the hours are fine, the work is something i'm capable of doing. i was hired for the job in june, but ended up not starting it until the tail end of july. during the onboarding process, there was a two-week period where all of my emails and calls were ignored and i worried i had been fired. never fear, is here. i also told them ahead of time i had a pre-existing commitment to moving to a new state at the end of july.…

i was hired for the job in june, but ended up not starting it until the tail end of july. during the onboarding process, there was a two-week period where all of my emails and calls were ignored and i worried i had been fired. never fear, is here.

i also told them ahead of time i had a pre-existing commitment to moving to a new state at the end of july. they dragged their feet on helping me to get the information required for my travel request form until about a week before departure. i was then told i wasn't allowed to bring the computer on a plane, and driving was out of the question since i was moving to the other side of the united states. they told me to ship it on friday and it would be here on monday. it wasn't, because no postal service works that way. i got it on tuesday afternoon and was told i had to be removed from my training class due to missing a day and a half, and that they would try to find me a new one. it's sunday, i've not recieved a response yet, and i'm not very hopeful. and even if i began immediately on monday, they pay every 3 weeks, and so i'll have nothing for this entire month except for a single week's paycheck, because the next pay date is the 12th. i'm expected very little and i'm still let down. very cool.
