Abhorrent conditions in nearby location of nationwide chain

I have to be somewhat vague to protect myself, so I apologize in advance. I live in an area recently affected by Hurricane Ian. Not the worst area, but still had damage. As the title suggests, there is a location for a huge, billion dollar retail chain (not a franchise) that has seen damage to one of its stores. This store remains open in spite of damage to the walls, floor, and at least one window. Half the product is shoved into the back of the store, it’s a mess. That’s not really the bad part, even though there are broken shelves and fixtures on the sales floor. The place is moldy. Dangerously so. You can smell it the second you walk in. I was in there for 10 minutes and it messed up my breathing and caused coughing for a while after. They have people working in that all…

What’s frustrating is that there isn’t anything I can do. It’s an extremely labor unfriendly state and going to the labor board is unlikely to get anywhere. Even if it did, the company is cheap and would just cut the employees off with no compensation if any action needed to be taken. So these people are just stuck working in that until corporate decides to do something about it or they leave. This is the world we live in.
